David Mack
David Mack is the creator, author and artist of Icon’s KABUKI. His work also includes writing and art duties on a defining run on Marvel Comics’ Daredevil. His comic work is extensive including covers for Marvel Comics White Tiger, Alias, Ms Marvel, DC’s Swamp Thing and writing on the upcoming Se7en #6 Envy by Zenescope.
David headlines the Cape Live Art show. This is David Mack’s first CAPE appearance.
Robert Kirkman
Robert Kirkman is one of the most popular writers to hit the scene in recent times. From Invincible to Marvel Team-Up, he has become the man readers turn to for excitement and excellence again and again.
Daniel Way
Daniel Way received the Xeric Foundation’s Xeric Grant in 2000 for his first publication, Violent Lifestyle #1. Through Violent Lifestyle, Way was introduced to Marvel Comics editor Axel Alonso. Way’s first published work for Marvel was the “Heartbreaker” storyline in Spider-Man’s Tangled Web #16 & 17.
This was followed by Gun Theory, a miniseries with artist Jon Proctor under the revived Epic Comics imprint. Way continued to work for Marvel; his subsequent work for the publisher includes Agent X #12, Bullseye: Greatest Hits, Ghost Rider, the “Prelude to Planet Hulk” storyline in The Incredible Hulk, Sabretooth: Open Season, Supreme Power: Nighthawk, Venom, What If...? Featuring Wolverine: Enemy of the State, Wolverine, and Wolverine: Origins.
Way is the current writer of Wolverine Origins and the upcoming Deadpool series.

Kody Chamberlain
Kody Chamberlain was born in Thibodaux, Louisiana, two short miles from Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing. Chamberlain is best known for illustrating “30 Days of Night: Bloodsucker Tales” for IDW Publishing with writer Steve Niles and illustrating Keith Giffen’s “Tag” for BOOM! Studios.
Chamberlain is a versatile artist often inking and coloring his own work. He’s also known to work in a wide variety of styles and techniques including traditional photo collage, which can be seen on his current creator owned project called “Punks” with writer Joshua Fialkov.
Chamberlain is also a writer and creator working on a diverse selection of upcoming projects including “The Foundation” which was preemptively optioned by Paramount Pictures for film development. He’s currently illustrating a 1930’s black and white crime book called “Pretty, Baby, Machine” for Shadowline at Image Comics, and “Wight and Associates” for Spacedog.
Chynna Clugston
This will be Chynna’s first appearance at Cape. She brings with her a large cult following from her comic book Blue Monday. She is also well known for her other works, Hopeless Savages, Scooter Girl, Strangetown, and Queen Bee.
Chynna Clugston has been nominated three times for an Eisner award.
Jason Pearson
Jason Pearson is the comic book creator of Body Bags as well as a popular comic artist. His work includes Global Frequency, Uncanny X-Men, Batman, and Legion of Super-Heroes.
Tony Bedard
Like a cockroach surviving a nuclear war, Tony Bedard is the grizzled veteran of fifteen years in the comics biz, writing and editing for companies from Valiant to DC Comics to CrossGen to Marvel. He wrote the CrossGen cult favorites NEGATION and ROUTE 666 and a well-received run on Marvel’s EXILES. He also published his robot opus, RETRO ROCKET at Image.
Tony’s first animated feature, TUROK SON OF STONE was released in February. His next projects include DC Comics’ BIRDS OF PREY and a brand new ongoing DC series to be announced!
Greg Pak
Greg Pak is a filmmaker and comic book writer who directed the award-winning feature “Robot Stories” and wrote the epic “Planet Hulk” and “World War Hulk” storylines for Marvel Comics. He was named one of 25 Filmmakers to Watch by Filmmaker Magazine, described as “a talent with a future” by the New York Times, and dubbed “Breakout Talent” of the year by Wizard Magazine. Pak’s run on Marvel’s ”Incredible Hulk” comic book was named the Best Ongoing Series of 2007 by Wizard Magazine. Pak created the character of Amadeus Cho, who won a 2005 Marvel.com fan favorite poll and now costars in the “Incredible Hercules” comic book. Pak’s other comics work includes the top-selling “X-Men: Phoenix - Endsong” miniseries for Marvel and the ”Battlestar Galactica” series for Dynamite.
Marc Andreyko
Marc Andreyko is the comic writer of DC’s Manhunter and Image’s Casefiles of Sam and Twitch. Marc’s graphic novel Torso, which he co-created with writer Brian Michael Bendis has been picked up by Miramax for a feature film. His newest work is on DC’s Nightwing Annual #2.

Mike Huddleston
Co-creator and Artist of ONI’s Coffin. Mike Huddleston’s work has been featured in Image’s Deep Sleeper, DC’s Harley Quinn and Vertigo’s Mnemeovore. Mike’s most recent book was DC comics Man-Bat with Bruce Jones.
Mike headlines the CAPE Live Art show alongside Kristian and David Mack. This is Mike Huddleston’s first CAPE appearance.
Jim Mahfood aka Food One
Jim Mahfood, aka Food One, has been working in comic books for ten years, and has done work ranging from illustrating Kevin Smith’s “Clerks” comics to working with Brian Bendis on various Marvel books (like “Wha Huh?!") to writing and drawing his own creator-owned stuff like Grrl Scouts, Stupid Comics, and One Page Filler Man. Mahfood also does lots of flyer art, makes album covers, t-shirt designs, skate decks, and rocks the live paintings in various bars and clubs around the country.
Jim’s most recent projects include doing the murals in the coffee shop for the Sarah Silverman Program on Comedy Central, and all the art for the Colt 45 beer campaign. His new books include Mixtape Vol.1 (a full color art book) and Stupid Comics: Phoenix Edition. More of Jim’s art at:

Jamie S Rich
Jamie S. Rich. Rich is the writer of ONI’s Cut My Hair, I Was Someone Dead, The Everlasting, and Love the Way You Love. His most recent work is the Oni original graphic novel 12 Reasons Why I Love Her with CAPE guest artist Joelle Jones.
Joelle Jones
Joelle Jones is the artist and co-creator of ONI’s original graphic novel 12 Reasons Why I Love Her with CAPE guest Jamie S Rich.
Her work can be seen in Dark Horse’s Sexy Chicks anthology, Viz’ Shojo Beat and Vertigo’s Fables. Her next project is You Have Killed Me a crime fiction noir original graphic novel with Jamie S Rich.
James O’Barr
Writer and artist James O’Barr conceptualized The Crow in the early 1980s as a response to a personal tragedy. A self-taught artist, James has been inspired by such diverse sources as the works of French poets George Bataille and Antonin Artaud, the music of punk artists Ian Curtis and Iggy Pop, and the stories of Lewis Carroll and Edgar Allen Poe. James conceived the character of The Crow as a supernatural force driven by equal parts of love and revenge to avenge the violence that claimed his life and love. Visually, James’ unique and explicit black and white vision of an inner city battle between the forces of good and evil draws from classical Renaissance sculpture and 1940s crime films.

Webcomics and OEL manga pioneer Lea Hernandez is the multiple-Eisner nominated creator of the graphic novel series Rumble Girls, the Texas Steampunk graphic novels Cathedral Child, Clockwork Angels and Ironclad Petal, and author of Manga Secrets.
José Villarrubia
Accompished painter, photographer, colorist and digital artist. His work can be seen mostly recently in Desolation Jones, Batman Year 100, Ghost Rider and Spider-Man Reign.
Alan Moore fans will recognize José Villarrubia’s photogtapher and digital work in two books done in collabaration with Alan Moore, Mirror of Love and Voice of the Fire.
kristian donaldson
Co-creator and artist of IDW hit Supermarket with Brian Wood and artist on Peter David’s Fallen Angel. His work also appears in DMZ with Brian Wood, Doomed and Forsaken.

Val Staples
Val Staples began as a colorist in 2000 for Glass House Graphics, Chaos Comics and Marvel Comics. He was also the cover colorist starting in 2001 for Funk-O-Tron’s Battle Pope, written by Robert Kirkman. Staples later worked for Hi-Fi Design from 2001 until 2002. Staples left Hi-Fi to publish comics under his studio MVCreations. From 2002 until 2005, his studio published Masters of the Universe, Dragon’s Lair, Space Ace, Rob Zombie’s Spook Show International, and Tales of the Realm.
Staples currently continues coloring for various Marvel Comics titles as well as titles created by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. Staples is also currently writing a number of titles that are due to be published in 2009 at Image Comics.
Ian Shaughnessy
Co-creator of Strangetown with Chynna Clugston, published by Oni Press. His newest book is his first original graphic novel, Shenanigans, with artist Mike Holmes.
Paul Benjamin
Paul Benjamin writes for multiple titles including Marvel Adventures Hulk, Spider-Man Family, Star Trek: The Manga, and his own Pantheon High.

Matthew Sturges
Matthew Sturges is the co-writer (with Bill Willingham) of Jack of Fables for DC/Vertigo Comics. His other current DC projects include Shadowpact, Countdown to Mystery, Salvation Run, and the upcoming House of Mystery, from DC/Vertigo. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and their two daughters.
Ben Dunn
The godfather of American manga. In 1984 he founded Antarctic Press, an American comic book company specializing in Manga-style titles.
His most notable creations for Antarctic are the comic book series Ninja High School and Warrior Nun Areala. His current projects include Antartic Press’s Ninja High School and a return to the Warrior Nun series with Warrior Nun Lazarus.
Dave Crosland
Dave Crosland enjoys peanut butter, road trips, and samurai flicks. He dislikes yogurt and mosquitoes. Since graduating from The Columbus College of Art and Design in 2000, this delicious youngster’s art has appeared in comic books, such as “Slop: Analecta,” “The Popgun Anthology,” “Puffed,” and “Scarface: Scarred For Life”. He’s also done a wide amount of work outside of comics, creating album covers for Gym Class Heroes and hip-hop guru Blueprint, a stage backdrop for Incubus, concert posters, tattoo flash, and designs for indie apparel and panties. Dave has painted live and shown fine art across the country, in places like Gallery 1988 (SF/LA), 111 Minna (SF), Copro Nason (LA), Meltdown (LA), The Metro (Chicago), and Club Deville (Austin). Crosland’s clients include IDW Publishing, Image Comics, Atlantic Records, Ride Snowboards, and Mad Magazine. His most recent comics work is the dark comedy/horror series, “Everybody’s DEAD,” a classic “misfit fraternity vs. zombie hordes” tale with a twist.

Larry Dixon
Fantasy Legend Larry Dixon, along with his wife, Mercedes Lackey, co-wrote the Mage Wars trilogy (also known as the Gryphon trilogy, for the titles The Black/White/Silver Gryphon), the Mage Winds trilogy, The Mage Storms trilogy, SERRAted Edge, and Owlflight books.

Josh Howard
Josh Howard is the writer/artist of the Viper Comics series Dead@17, Lost Books of Eve, Sasquatch and Black Harvest published by Devil’s Due.
His next big project is an original graphic novel Clubbing with Andi Watson for DC’s new Minx line.
Mercedes Lackey
Fantasy Legend and prolific American writer of Fantasy novels. Her work includes the bestselling Heralds of Valdemar and Bardic Voices series.
Andy Kuhn
Andy Kuhn has been a professional comics artist since 1994. He has worked for every major American publisher. His titles have included MARVEL ADVENTURES, SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED, AND MARVEL TEAM-UP (Marvel Comics), BLUE BEETLE, THE FLASH, YOUNG JUSTICE, and THE JOKER:LAST LAUGH (DC Comics). With writer Phil Hester he co-created the critically acclaimed miniseries FIREBREATHER for Image Comics. They are now releasing FIREBREATHER as an ongoing series beginning in may of 2008. Other recent works by Kuhn include the crime dramas EASY WAY (IDW), and 10 (Boom Studios) and the short lived series REX MANTOOTH:KUNG FU GORILLA with writer Matt Fraction.
